Hi Friends,
Welcome to SoulCents Coaching!
Finance….Organization…Life Transitions
Some of you have known me for many years and some of you are meeting me for the first time. So, this first blog will be a little about me and then about my new business. I was born in New York, moved to Panama for kindergarten and spent my formative years in Tokyo, Japan from third grade through high school with a brief stint at a boarding school in La Jolla , California for junior high school. Growing up in Tokyo had a major impact on my life as my buddies from ASIJ, American School in Japan, will attest to. Along the way, from age three through high school I did quite a bit of swimming, won a few medals and trained with a former Olympic coach for a period of time. Summers were spent with my grandparents in a very rural beautiful mountain town in Colorado and that gave me another environment to cling to, the yin and yang of city and country.
After high school, I joined Up With People International and was fortunate enough to be the Caucasian liason for the Japanese cast members of our group. Unless you have grown up abroad, it’s hard to imagine but for many years I felt more Japanese than American even though both my parents are of American descent. We travelled domestically all over the United States and then went on to Italy where I was one of the front public relations people and then to Germany where we did a Pepsi commercial outside of Munich. I loved to sing and dance and enjoyed my time thoroughly although I was not one of the performers close to a microphone
I got married for the first time at a very young age and had my daughter Jasmine. I built a house at 21 years of age and fell in love with real estate. A few years later, I fell in love with a contractor and we had a son Christopher and went into the business of buying and flipping houses in southern California. Fast forward years of raising a family, owning my own daycare business to be home with my own children, working for banks and Japan Airlines, we sold all our property in southern California and moved, thanks to my daughter’s urging, to northern California.
I fell in love with eleven and a half acres in Fort Bragg, California off Hwy One and close to the ocean. Once on our property, the redwood trees abound. It is a fairy land and was used in years past by the Pomo Indian tribe. It is my dream to one day have this become a retreat center and to pass it down to future generations the way our property in Drake, Colorado has been passed down since my great grandfather rode up that Rocky Mountain pass.
Alas, the economy was tough ( ah…I’ve been through many life transitions) and my husband and I needed to move down closer to a city center to get “real” jobs . That city center was San Francisco. I have recently graduated with a MBA and a Masters in Asia Pacific Studies. I have gone on to study with the College for Financial Planning . Most recently, I have studied with The Coaches Training Institute in San Rafael, California. They are acknowledged by the International Coaching Federation as one of the best.
So, here I am with a new business. My desire is to take all my different roads that I have traveled to date and to be able to assist others with finding their true loves and paths. As your coach, you will find me to be a true team player. With the co-active coaching model, you will be empowered to reach your own dreams. I love coaching! It comes naturally to me and it is fun! If you would like a free 45 minute sample session, it is my joy to give it to you. I have received lots of positive feedback from those I have coached and I would love to be your coach!
